So the ultimate goal of dating is to find an eternal companion you can make and keep temple covenants with.
When you’re a teen, dating helps you learn how to interact with others, make friends, have fun, and learn and practice respect and courtesy.
Hanging out in a group means that you’re just a group of friends doing things together.

Here are a few questions from youth about dating, along with answers we hope are helpful.

To know if it’s a date, ask these questions: (1) What’s in your heart and mind; what is your intent? (3) Are you pairing up—talking to and being close to one person exclusively—even while in a group of friends?
Group dating means that everyone in the group is paired up for an activity.
